Abstract: This work looks at the sports scene in Malta and investigates the use of nutritional aids by Maltese tennis players and athletes, in their bid to enhance their performance. A review of the scientific research available on this nutritional practice is also presented. underlying the most common supplements in use and their perceived ergogenic benefits by foreign athletes. This review eventually leads to the analysis of the survey results. which survey aimed at finding out the extent of popularity of these supplements and the conceptions behind this exercise. by the athletes in each of the two sports areas. This survey was also extended to a random sample of the general population.
