Abstract: The purpose of this study was that of analysing the variables affecting the attitudes of form four students towards Maths. All the information could be gathered with the use of a questionnaire. Two area secondary schools were chosen for the administration of the pilot questionnaire. After which the final questionnaire was set up consisting of seventy three statements. The final questionnaire constructed was then divided into two parts where the first part is called the attitude questionnaire and the second part the opinion questionnaire. The Likert scaling method was chosen to be part of the final questionnaire which consists of a 5 point scale ranging from strongly agree to strongly disagree. Moreover for the administration of the final questionnaire two area and Junior Lyceums schools were selected for both sexes. T-Tests were calculated for sex, type of school attended and subject options taken by students to test if they are significant or not; between attitude scores and achievement in the half correlation coefficients teacher assessment and yearly and yearly exams; frequency distribution of the five point scale for certain statements in the opinion questionnaire and cross-tabs between sex and five-point scale for certain statements in the opinion questionnaire.
