| Abstract: | This dissertation consists of a study of a sample of 465 scripts, done by the candidates coming from 5 different state schools, who sat for the English Final Examination held in February 1995. The content of this dissertation covers: a) an item analysis of the English Reading paper and the first three exercises of the English Written paper. Sex differences and differences between schools as regards performance in these test items were also investigated. b) a detailed investigation of various errors in the compositions. |
