| Abstract: | This dissertation attempts to identify what the Maltese teachers consider to be the most severe problems in school-children. The first step in this research is to examine the differences in teachers' opinions with respect to two important variables : sex and experience. The results are then ranked according to the seriousness of the behaviour problems as viewed by the teachers. Then, the rank orders pertaining to the various categories of teachers are compared. Finally, American teachers and the clinicians lead to an appraisal of Maltese teachers' versus American teachers' and clinicians' attitudes towards the same behaviour problems in children. Description of the results follow the presentation of tables and figures. A discussion of the conclusion reached in this study follows and this sums up the whole work. |
