Abstract: Learning in primary schools is being supported with computer software. This study aimed to evaluate the software being used in year 3 state primary schools. Each software was analysed and evaluated with regards to the four interactive learning patterns. The researchers administered the Learning Combination Inventory (Johnston and Dainton 1996) to a random sample of 30 pupils from year three. From this sample the researchers selected four pupils with a significant difference in their combination of learning patterns. Therefore the researchers observed the four learners while they were using the year 3 educational software. Finally the researchers stated the results of this study and proposed further modifications to the software so that it would appeal more to the four different learning profiles.
