Stħarriġ tal-eżamijiet tal-letteratura Maltija mit-tielet sal-ħames klassi tal-iskola sekondarja tal-Imrieħel

Abstract

A study of the Maltese literature answers of 530 female students attending Mriehel secondary school, to the mid-year and annual examination, 1980. The scope of this study is 1. evaluation of the set examination papers in both sessions; 2. the marking system employed, 3. a detailed study of the answers given at the mid-year examination; 4. the use of histograms and frequency polygons for the annual examination results, and relevant information regarding distribution of marks in the grammar, literature and essay sections is tabulated in Appendix I; 5. twenty suggestions for ameliorating the learning of Maltese literature. This research shows that learning experience in Maltese literature is rather poor, except in Maltese Drama, specifically Erba' Drammi [Four Plays] by Oreste Calleja, though there is still room for improvement.
