| Abstract: | The authors, through the activities presented in this dissertation, hope that the Maltese slow learner develops a feeling of power and satisfaction as he gains skill in working with the English Language. The writers invite teachers to add sparkle to their teaching and at the same time add their effectiveness in teaching slow learners. Teaching basic skills will be more meaningful if slow learners recognise a purpose in the tasks they perform. Thus slow learners have a chance to learn the skills and tasks designed for them which are stimulating and creative and not just more deadly drill. This dissertation suggests ways and means of presenting a model language programme as a framework or setting for the teaching of English to slow learners in Year Four. |
