Fil-baħar mad-denfil : sensiela ta' programmi televiżivi għat-tfal tas-sitt sena tal-iskejjel primarji u noti għall-għalliema

Abstract

This is a series of ten, twenty-minutes television programme, purposely designed for pupils in year six of the primary schools. It was also specially designed to be a corollary to the work which its audience should have covered in class through all the texts in the Id-Denfil series. Therefore it is meant to be broadcast in the last term of their last scholastic year in the primary school. The aim is principally to change the usual classwork routine, and through such entertainment, lead on to further work not only relating to the main subject, the teaching of Maltese, but also on any other correlated topics that might arise form the programmes. It must be made absolutely clear that these programmes are in no way meant to be direct lessons through the television medium, and that more than being a series of 'magazine programmes' they are meant to be a 'date' with the topics treated in each of them. These topics include selections from various genres of Maltese literature as biography, narration and poetry; Maltese history and some aspects of local culture, folklore, civics and nature conservation. Wherever possible the text of the programmes was structured on the adaptation of excerpts from well known Maltese authors.
