Abstract: This dissertation seeks to discuss the natural ability inherent in children for music. Case studies will be carried out on young children (primary level: from Kindergarten to Year VI) alike. These case studies will be based on E. E. Gordon's Music Learning Theory which states that "music is as basic as language to human development existence". The case studies will take the form of Music Aptitude Tests and will be conducted on children coming from very different social and cultural backgrounds. The findings of the dissertation will prove that individuals are born with a natural inclination towards and aptitude for music.
