Abstract

Comenius is part of European Union's Socrates Action programme in the field of Education. Comenius addresses school education and it is guided by four overall objectives, Quality Education, the European dimension, the learning of languages and intercultural awareness. The research will look at identifying the participation of Maltese schools and teachers in Comenius and in building a database, which will focus on school language projects and school development projects. The database will be available in electronic format, cd and on the web for use by Maltese schools and by European partner institutions. The work will be done in conformity with the EU standards in web design and will also be attached to the Socrates website locally. A placement at the technical assistance office in Brussels has been issued for the success of this project.
