| Abstract: | The aim of this research project was to determine the effects of drama with a group of year 4 children who were never exposed to drama before. The school was chosen purposefully for its location and stereotypes that are usually associated with it. The drama programme consisted of 12 lessons that were carried out over a period of 6 weeks. A total of 23 children and their teacher participated in this programme but 4 were chosen deliberately for case studies. Data was collected during a set of observation sessions and during the lessons, as well as from interviews with the teacher and parents of these 4 children. The , programme was based on the notion derived from the literature review that all children can participate and learn through drama. This study will hopefully help teachers to assist children in developing aspects of their personality through drama sessions. |
