| Abstract: | The aim of this dissertation is to analyse the children's literature, written in Maltese for Primary School children, published between 1985 and 1995. The study consists of an analysis of the likes and dislikes of the young readers. It also consists of an analysis of the themes in children's literature. The required information was gathered from an analysis of a number of Maltese books. The research method applied consists of a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the themes in each of these books. This study can help further studies in this field. As this research indicates, greater importance should be given to the themes in children's literature. Authors may take into consideration some important conclusions which are drawn in this study. |
