| Abstract: | This dissertation deals with educational drama. An initial evaluation of its importance and function is provided in the opening chapter. Today, drama is considered to be a subject which may be effectively integrated in the school's curriculum, very much depending, for its success, on the teacher's qualities and organisation. These aspects are tackled in chapter 2 and 3. In the primary schools, drama may function on two levels: (a) as an independent subject and (b) as a teaching method through which other subjects are taught. However, previous consideration must be given to the behaviour of the primary school child. Chapter 4 and 5 illustrate the above mentioned points. This dissertation is based on theory substantiated by practical drama sessions which are described in Chapter 6. Comments accompany the description of each session. |
