Abstract: The Goodenough-Harris drawing test (Harris 1963), consisting of the Draw-a-Man, Draw-a-Woman and Draw the Self tests, was administered to 278 pupils attending Year 1 and Year 2 classes (129 boys and 149 girls), with ages ranging from 5:0 to 6:11. Sex and age differences on test scores and reported abilities given by teachers were investigated. Norms obtained from the study were compared to Harris's norms. Facility levels and discrimination indices of 13 selected items were computed for pupils in the Upper and Lower 27% of the total sample. 10 items common also to Naglieri's Draw A Person test (1988) were compared with the Goodenough-Harris test for facility levels. Reliability of the Goodenough-Harris drawing test was deter mined by test-retest method and interrater method, using Naglieri's test as alternative scoring system for the latter. Construct and criterion-related validity of the test were also investigated.
