Abstract: In Malta, quite a high percentage of people suffer from ailments like diabetes and coronary diseases, which are directly related to the food we are eating. In fact my observations on our eating habits have led me to believe that many still do not know what nutrition is all about and are eating ill assortments of food to the detriment of their health. This may be due to many causes, mainly the increasing production of commercial food. Going into bars and restaurants and eating or drinking commercially prepared food has become a social habit.
