Abstract: This Dissertation is meant to give an outline of one of the central problems that the Maltese population has faced throughout the ages, that is, providing potable water to meet increasing demands. It is evident from research carried out that the solution to such an endemic problem relied on augmenting the supply. The author insists that from an economic stand point the problem has to be resolved also by incorporating demand in the analysis. Essentially it is being proposed that educating children at an early age in water conservation is the best long term solution to demand management of this natural vital source. After having participated in a pilot project in 'Collaborative team Teaching', the author undertook to provide interesting and attractive teaching resources that can be used by primary school teachers within their time constraints, in their endeavor to prepare young people to carry out their social and economic responsibilities with respect to water.
