Abstract: Awareness as regards to protecting our natural environment is becoming increasingly important in an era marked by technology and industrialisation. Eager to meet all sectors of the public, we resolved to provide information sheets targeted at bird watchers, tourists and the general public as well as activities for primary and secondary school students. These activities are meant to guide educators and students alike towards making the best out of their visit at Gfiadira Nature Reserve. While carrying out these activities, students are made aware of the importance of protecting and supporting Nature Reserves. In contrast with traditional visits taking place in this area, where students used to spend around three hours watching birds through binoculars from each of the two hides present, educators will now be expected to adopt the role of a guide. They are provided with a combination of activities, techniques and information which offer first-hand experiences in the natural environment. The pack was also evaluated for its educational value and several suggestions were collected and analysed.
