Talking and learning in a Year 1 class

Abstract

In this study we aim to examine the relationship between talking and learning Year 1 class (5 year olds). Two different settings are examined, the classroom and the playground. Our study covers various theoretical views, concerning children's uses of language and the outstanding features which characterise children's talking and learning. In our investigation children's talking and learning in the classroom and playing field setting is explored using recorded data.
