Abstract: The Eucharist is Christ, the head of the Mystical Body - the Church. Paul in his First Letter to the Corinthians presents various topics, such as the Eucharist. This dissertation analyses the sacrament of the Eucharist, its institution, its background and its importance in 1 Corinthians. Paul wrote on the Eucharist in 1 Corinthians and the first chapter explores Paul's epistle about the subject. The second chapter examines the institution of the Eucharist according to the Gospels and the Passover Meal as compared to 1 Corinthians. The final chapter delves into Paul's theological concepts on the Eucharist in the light of 1 Corinthians.
