Abstract: In this set of experiments, 24 lettuce seedlings were grown in pots of soil, sand and compost for 56 days during the months of August, September and October. The 24 seedlings were irrigated with three different concentrations of potassium sulphate namely 0.4 me K+/l, 1 me K+/l and 10 me K+/l after 3 weeks of initial treatment. The seedlings were also divided into 6 groups and exposed to two water regimes. Three of the groups were irrigated with 500 ml of distilled water while the other three were irrigated with 250 ml, the latter amount of water being 50% of the field capacity of the pots.
