Abstract: During the last few years, the concept of mobility has been extended to avoid the need of a common infrastructure to which all mobile nodes must connect to in order to communicate with each other. The concept of infrastructure less or Ad Hoc networking provides an answer to communication in remote places or in disaster relief situations where the introduction of a structured system is not readily available. Mobile ad Hoc networks (MANETs) are a further enhancement, where mobile nodes are free to move within a network and communication is established on a peer-to-peer basis.
