Adopting cleaner production in industry as a means of environmental protection

Abstract

The development of science and technology and their world-wide application are important driving forces of industrial and economic growth. This growth is causing a growing burden upon the "life support system of nature". It is now increasingly evident that the corrective approaches to pollution control are not sufficient to solve these problems and to prevent new ones from arising, therefore it is clear that there is an urgent need for a paradigm shift to pollution prevention.
