Abstract: The Mediterranean fruit fly, Ceratitis capitata [Wiedemann], is a very destructive pest which attacks over 250 fruits, nuts and vegetables but predominantly citrus fruit such as orange. In certain countries, citrus losses have run as high as 50%.
