Improving PV modules output with passive flat reflectors in Malta

Abstract

The aim of this dissertation was to study ways of improving the output of PV panels installed in Malta, with the aid of flat plate reflectors installed in iron from the panels. Two sets of PV modules and reflectors were studied. During this study, the PV panels were installed at the optimum inclination angle and azimuth, and placed on a flat horizontal surface. The materials of true reflectors were chosen to be as cost effective as possible, widely available and most commonly used locally.
