Abstract: The Annunzjata, or Lunzjata Chapel, set in a charming area of unique setting, is situated at the tip of the Ta' l-Gholja plateau, only a couple of metres away from the Laferla cross, together with which it makes a spectacular focus. (Plate 1.1) The plateau commands the steeply dipping clay strata known as it-Tafli Ta' l-Gholja (the clay slopes of Ta' l-Gholja), which in turn stretch to the globigerina plain tracts of central Malta. (Plate 1.2) The plateau is located at a distance of circa 1.5 kilometres south west of Siggiewi, reaching a height of 245 metres above mean sea level.
