Water conservation with special reference to the situation in Malta

Abstract

Owing to the acute water shortage in the :Maltese Islands, the local government, over the years,has consulted a number of experts in order to find a solution to this problem. Thus rather than discussing the water situation in Malta in great detail, and giving a detailed account of the various geological formations found and the exact potential yield and hydro geological conditions prevailing in each of the aquifer blocks of Malta, as this is amply documented in both the Morris and the ATIGA Reports, this report has been more concerned with the collection and compilation of material related to the methods of water conservation used throughout the world, keeping in mind the local situation.
