High rise buildings in Malta

Abstract

Malta is going through a period of change. The last twenty years have changed the face of Malta and great strides have been achieved in the effort to become economically independent. The new Malta which is emerging has left innumerable marks on society and the people's way of life. Large new industrial estates have mushroomed all over the island and the tourist industry has shot from almost zero to over three quarters of a million tourists per year, more than twice the local population.
