Abstract: After spending two months roaming about the South of Spain it comes with no surprise that I have directed my studies in the field of Islamic Architecture. The little untidy villages together with the contrasting elegant buildings such as the Alhambra Palace and the Friday Mosque of Cordoba had a compelling effect on me which induced me to undertake this daunting task. This study is intended as an introduction to the world of Islam, its architecture, its social and political problems and its integration within today's 'Modern' world.
