Abstract: The aim of this dissertation is to promote the appreciation, conservation and enhancement of Maltese architectural heritage by presenting an analysis of local doors and windows as indicators of architecural evolution on the Maltese islands. It was impossible to cover every door and window in the islands as there is an infinity of forms and styles and it would have required much more time to cover such an in-depth study than what was available to me.
