The Health Care System dominates the public sector of the economy. Its scale, in terms of manpower and financial resources required far exceeds that of most organisations. As such, it has attracted the attention of successive Governments of varying political persuasions, who have sought to improve the quality of service provided by changing organisation structures and management styles, among other things.
