Management of debtors' and creditors' collection period within the local industry : a longitudinal survey

Abstract

Credit management may be considered as the lifeblood for a majority of enterprises and it requires professional management. One can safely argue that trade credit affects directly corporate survival and prosperity. Effective credit management can, by minimising slow payments from customers and paying suppliers at appropriate times, make a noticeable difference to the short-term finances and long-term viability of any business. Credit management involves both debtors and creditors.
