| Abstract: | The objective of this study was to carry out an exercise to assess the financial feasibility of setting up an aircraft maintenance and repair organisation in Malta, following the interest that foreign organisations had in this type of venture. This study was conducted on the assumption that the aviation industry continues its expansion amid encouragingly positive trends and expectations in world economies, the latter having a significant impact on the performance of commercial air traffic. The aviation industry is composed of various sectors, including passenger scheduled and charter services, freight operations, aircraft maintenance and other aviation related services. All these sectors operate dynamically throughout the world in a coordinated manner, within a global aviation system regulated by the various authorities of different countries. This study results in an expression of opinion on whether such project should be undertaken or otherwise. The opinion is based on the research carried out both in Malta and abroad. AU the relevant estimates and projections are included in the appropriate sections of this study. |
