Abstract: The main aim of this research is to establish the effects that the implementation of antidiscrimination laws ushered at the place of work. Malta has experienced a legal overhaul in this field especially since 2002. Further protection was afforded to workers against discrimination at the place of work upon Malta’s membership in the European Union which brought about changes in the Industrial and Employment Relations Act (Chapter 452). This complemented articles 14, 32 and 45 of the Constitution of Malta and consequently, this brought not just awareness and protection but a rise in Industrial case-law precisely related to such abuses. This research will also trace the further developments in this field up to this day. This research project besides discussing the European, International and local legal frameworks which contribute to this area, will also look at Case Law and how the Industrial Tribunal is treating this area.
