| Abstract: | Valletta is a relatively young capital city as it has existed for less than 450 years, however it can boast of having had an influence on the rest of the country much more than Mdina (the old capital) could ever muster in the many more hundreds of years of existence. The centrality of the Valletta is inextricably connected to the life of the nation, to its cultural texture and to its social tapestry. The capital city's history, affairs and everyday happenings reflect its multicultural and multivariate faces, qualities and potential - elements which have been passed on to the rest of the nation with the progress of time. |
