| Abstract: | This paper presents a brief overview of politics in Malta, with specific focus on politics during the most recent decades. In the first instance, Malta’s recent political development shall be looked into, followed by a brief historical analysis on the birth of the major political parties in Malta. This shall be followed by a sociological analysis of party loyalty in Malta and an analysis of Malta’s political parties since Independence. In turn, a brief investigation of social movements and the Europeanization of Maltese politics shall be carried out respectively. |
