Abstract: Everyone thinks that their country is the centre of the world', however its' the inhabitants prerogative to make it so. Those of us who live in island states tend to dwell on this reasoning according to and how the international environment is performing. Common theory has established that the behaviour of islanders tend to be inwards looking and protective but contrary to this thinking Malta's island people have established a more outward behaviour as a vision of actorness in foreign relations. This concept has led me to dedicate my dissertation regarding the significant role that Malta has acted in the EU's CFSP up till now and how the actorness could evolve further. This perspective would be taken in view of the European Union enlargements of 2004 and 2007 towards the east and south of the continent. This regional grouping brought the EU geo strategically closer to areas prone to conflict, therefore the EU needed to create a reliable structure by which it could conduct a coherent foreign policy.
