Abstract: Throughout history we observe that man has been spiritually inclined, by his very same own nature. Ancient figurines and other artefacts which have been discovered through various archaeological findings were mankind's early attempts in sculpture attributed to spirituality and religiosity. This dissertation examines the popular religiosity aspects within the village of Qormi, one of the most ancient villages that can be found on the Maltese Islands. Devotions towards God and especially Jesus Christ, the Blessed Virgin Mary and other popular saints are being considered. Devotions towards Jesus Christ are mostly reflected in the churches, confraternities, chapels, statues, paintings, niches and in the cult towards Good Friday and Easter Sunday processions. Devotions towards the Blessed Virgin Mary and other popular saints especially St George, St Sebastian, St Peter, Sts Paul & Publius, St Joseph and St Michael are reflected in the churches, confraternities, chapels, statues, paintings and niches throughout the whole village.
