Abstract: The history of water is in many respects the history of life itself. Water is the major substance in every living system. Man depends on water not only for drinking but also for power, transportation and irrigation. The search for new sources of water is never-ending, particularly in developing countries such as ours. As modern technology demands more and more water, means must be constantly sought to tap new resources and to re-use the water that man himself has polluted. An engineer Thomson King summarised the problem presented by water in this abstract: "Of all substances that are necessary to life as we know it on earth, water is by far the most important, the most familiar and the most wonderful; yet most people know very little about it." Even Lord Byron had something to say about this subject in his poem 'Don Juan' : "Till taught by pain, men really know not what good water's worth." This project is not intended to make the readers conscious of what man is doing to his so much needed underground water supplies. Man in his quest for progress has in the past, is in the present and will inevitably in the future accomplish technological advances at the expense of some natural resource such as water. It is in the intention of the author to give possibilities, nowadays available, of re-using water which man himself unconsciously has contaminated.
