Abstract: This design is intended to control a small bioreactor using an IBM compatible computer. The system measures the oxygen level in the reactor and from this tries to estimate and control the growth rate of cells using valves which control liquid and gas flows into the reactor. Most of the hardware is made up using the most common available IC's so as to make servicing as easy and as inexpensive as possible, improving cost effectiveness.
