| Abstract: | The major aims in undertaking this project were primarily concerned with the facilitation of communication between the school, Head Office and other sectors within the Department of Education. We saw it best to accomplish this aim by compiling a handbook where those concerned with Educational Administration, mainly Headteachers and Assistant Headteachers, especially those newly appointed, will have relevant, first hand information to help in the day to day running of the school. Such a handbook will also help to save time and resources leaving the Headteacher time to manage the school by wandering about instead of by dealing with matters from the office. It was also our aim to compare and contrast the local administrative level within schools, especially at Primary level with one or more schools in Britain. To this effect letters were written and sent to schools visited by our colleagues in the Diploma Course during summer 1986 but unfortunately no replies have been received. Consequently, such a comparison could not be made. It was not our aim to criticise, merely to find the best in both systems and if possible develop a better one. |
