Abstract: This report presents a review of a two week visit to Holly Hall Grant Maintained Secondary School in Central Dudley, in the Midlands. This visit covered the period from the 2nd to the 14th November 1999 to reflect on administrative and management practice in a foreign school. Chapter 1 gives an overview of the origin of the school and moves to consider the aims and objectives together with the ethos. Chapter 2 discusses the staffing and support structures, looking into the roles of different members of staff and gives information about support projects which are available in the school. Chapters 3 and 4 deal with different aspects of school life including policies. Chapter 5 gives an insight to management skills adopted at Holly Hall Secondary School. The last chapter shows the relevance of this study to the Maltese educational system and offers recommendations for its improvement.
