Edleston Primary School : an English county school

Abstract

This long essay was written with the aim of reporting and commenting on how an English county primary school is managed and administered. In this essay we studied the ways in which Edleston Primary is administered and led. We tried to link theory and practice for some aspects of school management. The school's aims and objectives were studied and how these were being implemented in the delivery of the curriculum and extracurricular activities. We also commented on pastoral care and school ethos. We examined issues related to planning, assessment, record keeping and evaluation. The roles of the headteacher and other staff at the school have also been observed and discussed in this essay. We also commented on the school's links with parents and the community. Finally an evaluation of the school's effectiveness was made.
