Abstract: This work is an account of the observations made during a two week visit in a Grammar School in England. The aim of the project was to observe and analyse the management and administration of the school. There being no fixed formula for administration and management all observations were considered in the school context. For this reason this work gives an overall view of the school, it's philosophy, the student population, the management and teaching staff as well as the building housing the school. Importance is also given to the school's achievements which reflect the effectiveness of its management. Managerial structures and practices by which the school is run are discussed. A list of good and effective practices that can be introduced in local schools concludes this work.
