Abstract: The principal purpose of this study was to investigate the European Union's Policy Coherence for Development and to what extent it is affecting Small Island Developing States in the African continent, particularly Cape Verde, Comoros, Republic of Guinea-Bissau, Sao Tome and Principe and Seychelles. The research was done through the technique of quantitative content analysis, where a total of five reports issued by the European Commission, on the Policy Coherence for Development itself, were assessed. As will be seen further on, the outcomes of the study show that even though the Policy Coherence for Development addresses developing countries considerably, it does not focus enough attention on the selected SIDS.
