Abstract: The transition from Primary to Secondary school is a challenging experience for both students and their parents. The aim of the study was to analyse the management skills necessary when dealing with the intake on new male students at St Mark BJL. A detailed analysis of existent transition programmes was essential to evaluate the effects of this move on students. Statistics from competent sources together with questionnaires, interviews and research materials contributed to the detailed account making special reference to the situation at St Mark Boys Junior Lyceum. Since the purpose of the study was to facilitate transition, a detailed Students' Handbook was drafted. Through the questionnaires distributed among the Year 6 students' parents, it was proved that owing to lack of information available to these parents, Church schools are perceived to provide a much better educational service than State schools. Marketing of St Mark Boys Junior Lyceum is therefore essential. Hence, a school brochure was drafted in order to be in a better position to promote the school in a more professional way.
