| Abstract: | This study explores the differences and similarities in the administration of Primary Schools in Malta and Gozo. A survey, in the form of a self administered questionnaire, was administered to all Primary School head teachers in the Maltese Islands. The study explored school administrative aspects namely delegation, work inhibitors, time management, occupational stress and coping strategies. These were tested against six demographic variables namely gender, years of experience, school size, school type, school area and number of assistant heads. The 56 participating head teachers' responses yielded statistical data which demonstrated both differences and similarities amongst Maltese and Gozitan head teachers. This study investigates these findings and brings to light the intricacies of Maltese Primary Headship. |
