Abstract: The practice of temporary agency work is still under-developed in Malta. Since 2004, a number of legal changes have affected temping, but no comprehensive legal framework has been enacted. There are no quantitative studies about the practice of temping in Malta. However, temporary work in Malta in 2004 stood at 3.6%. While the General Workers’ Union tends to be sceptical about temporary agency work, the Malta Employers’ Association promotes the idea as a means of increasing the adaptability of enterprises.
