| Abstract: | After browsing on the Internet for a couple of hours in search of a school I had finally found the Mission Statement which I was looking for. So, I decided to write a letter to Mr. Mike Armstrong, head of Wilford Meadows Comprehensive School in Nottingham, asking him if I could possibly visit his school and shadow him for a couple of weeks. This was to be part of the course work in the Diploma of Education (Administration and Management) which I am taking at the University of Malta. The visit has proved very enjoyable but above everything else very beneficial. During my stay I had the opportunity to have lengthy discussions with the Head of School, the Senior Management Team, and other members of Staff. I have attended staff meetings, school council meetings, meetings with local businessmen and have also been present for some lessons. The results of this two weeks' observations have been recorded in a report outlining the different aspects of the Administration of the School and its similarities to the Maltese System. |
