Ideal field ideal yield : a land evaluation report for a rainfed & irrigated agricultural land in the Girgenti area

Abstract

The present work is a land evaluation report aimed at a plot of land situated in Girgenti, a rural zone in Siġġiewi, Malta. After a short introduction on the importance of land evaluation followed by a general overview of the characteristics normally taken into account in reports of the kind described herein, this work analyses the physical, logistic, socio-economic, and chemical properties of the site and attempts to discuss its potential for agricultural use and understand preventable issues. The results as well as its subsequent discussion indicate that the overall outcome of the report can be considered without reservation positive.
