Abstract: Data from the National Statistics Office indicates that most migrant workers in Malta are males working on a permanent contract. Migrant workers appear to be over-qualified and participate less than other workers in education and training. While a system is in place for the recognition of foreign qualifications, non-formal learning is not yet recognised. The Employment and Training Corporation is among the institutions which organises training meant to integrate migrants in the Maltese labour market. The workplace promotion of migrant workers is not being addressed through collective bargaining and HRM initiatives.
